Sherline CNC Ugrade Kit 5100/5410 6710 (Metric)
Any existing Sherline lathe or mill can be converted to CNC-ready status with the available conversion kits listed above. The installation will involve drilling and tapping several holes to attach the stepper motor mounts. The kits include drill blocks that are attached to the appropriate table or bed using the single existing hole and then two new holes are drilled using the block as a guide. The holes are then tapped and the new mount installed. In the case of the mill column and the lathe leadscrew, a new leadscrew must also be installed. Complete instructions for the conversion are supplied with the kits.
Note that any new Sherline machine can also be ordered from the factory with stepper motor mounts already installed. Go to the Lathes or Mills pages for descriptions and prices.
What does "CNC-ready" mean...
CNC-ready means the machine is ready to bolt on stepper motors and apply CNC control to them by means of a system that the user must supply.
